Soda gone, Erin back next year on Mix 102.3 breakfast
Mark Soderstrom from Mix 102.3’s Erin Phillips & Soda for Breakfast show has signed off from the station.
Soad says it was a “tough decision” to finish up at Mix after eight years.
“It has been an enormous privilege to be invited into the cars, homes and workplaces of the station’s fantastic listeners and friends who I will miss dearly.
“I have been fortunate to have met some brilliant and inspiring people along the way and it is these relationships that I will cherish most about my time at Mix.”
ARN’s Chief Content Officer, Duncan Campbell said: “Soda has made an incredible contribution to Mix 102.3. I’d like to thank him for valuable input that has seen Mix 102.3 enjoy great rating success in the competitive Adelaide market. He leaves with our best wishes.”
Soda joined Mix 102.3’s breakfast team in 2014. Last year Erin replaced Jodie Oddy
Soda’s co-host Erin Phillips remains part of Mix 102.3’s breakfast team and ARN will make an announcement on the new breakfast show soon.
Earlier in the year the pair were unexpectedly off air for a while after Erin joined the show. At the time it was explained as giving the new show “time to breathe.” At the time Soda told Mediaweek: “I don’t come from a radio background. I didn’t start ‘til later and I didn’t even really come from a TV background. I was a school teacher and a fireman and all these different things, and I sort of stumbled into media probably by accident.”
The breakfast show was 4th in the market in the last survey of the year, with the station scoring 10.9% overall, in second place in the Adelaide market.
