Podcast So Dramatic! expands into daily publishing with launch of news website

Staff Writer

Entertainment and gossip podcast So Dramatic! is expanding its multimedia output, launching the content platform So Dramatic! Online.

The podcast’s creator Megan Pustetto said So Dramatic! will aim to become the leader in a new generation of publishing through new media platforms including online, podcasting and social media.

The website will expand the So Dramatic! team to include some “young, fresh and forward-thinking” journalists and content creators, the publication said.

The So Dramatic! podcast is represented by DM Podcasts, which recently signed a deal moving its podcast network over from ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network to the NOVA Entertainment Podcast Network (NEPN).

Pustetto said it was an incredibly exciting time for So Dramatic!

“The growth So Dramatic! has seen in its first year has been exponential, so I am extremely excited to see what we can achieve this year and beyond,” she said.

“Our key focus will be continuing to entertain, inform and challenge our audience with thought-provoking celebrity news with a strong focus on female-driven content.

“I am so grateful for the support of my listeners who have helped me achieve this goal of launching a fully-functioning news website today, and I am so thankful for the amazing team I now have working alongside me and supporting me to make So Dramatic! the best it can be.”

Pustetto told her readers she turned to podcasting after losing her journalism job during the COVID-19 downturn of 2020.

“After a lot of self-reflection, I decided to use the extra time I had to try something I had always wanted to do: podcasting. I ran the idea past a few friends, most of which told me not to bother because it would never take off and ‘podcasting isn’t as easy as it looks’,” she said.

“They were right about only one of those things. That same day I came up with the name So Dramatic! and started to plan how my show would look. Exactly one week later, So Dramatic! released its very first episode.”

Pustetto said the full team would be announced shortly.

The podcast recently celebrated 100 episodes and 2 million downloads, and earlier this year, Pustetto was nominated for the B&T 30 Under 30 Awards.
