Simon ‘Simmo’ Gale starts today as the new Drive host on Adelaide’s Fresh 927.

Rarely seen without headphones, we’re told Simmo’s genuine joy for sharing and discovering new music is matched only by his inability to hear the doorbell.

Simmo is already well known to the station, having worked weekends on Fresh for the past six months.

He’s also filled in on just about every other shift, including Breakfast.

“Simmo’s a great jock who’s passionate about Adelaide and the success of Fresh,” says Fresh 927 Content Director Sean Craig Murphy. “He’s also got a broad cross section of radio skills that he’s accumulated over may years in programming and on-air breakfast roles in New South Wales. This will make him very handy here at Fresh.”

“We’re pumped to have you on board, Simmo.”

Simmo replaces Harry Boyd-Turner, who’s heading to uni and studying to become a high school maths teacher.

Murphy says “I want to take this opportunity to thank Harry for his excellent work on the Drive show and incredible kindness and professionalism in offering to stay on as long as it took for us to find his replacement.”
