Shining bright: Gold 104.3’s Toni Tenaglia on the ups and downs of Survey day

Reporter

Gold 104.3’s Toni Tenaglia knows only too well the unpredictable nature of radio ratings day, having experienced the ups and downs first hand.

GfK Survey 5 was a mixed bag for Gold, dropping in share from 10.7% to 10.3% overall but remaining Melbourne’s #1 FM station.

Toni enjoyed a 1% gain in Afternoons, up from 11.1 to 12.1 – the station’s only show across the Workday to post an increase in share.

But, as Toni tells Radio Today, it makes up for the huge loss she experienced a couple of books ago, when, ironically, everyone else around her went up.

“I was super excited when I saw my result, I won’t repeat what I said to my son, I’ll have to put money in the swear jar if I do. Haha.”

“A few surveys ago, my show took a hit, which gutted me, while the other shows on Gold104.3 went up.”

“This time round I’m the only one who saw an increase, so while I’m disappointed for the team on the Christian O’Connell Show, Huggy and Higgo, I have no doubt they’ll bounce back next survey.”
