Kate, Tim & Joel maintain position on podcast ranker despite shake-up

Nova’s syndicated drive show has maintained its popularity in podcast form, with the Kate, Tim & Joel podcast hanging on to the #7 position in the Australian Podcast Ranker’s Top 100 Podcasts list.

Former co-host Marty Sheargold finished up on Friday, September 11, with Joel Creasey taking over on Monday, September 14.

This ranking of monthly podcast downloads measured the period of September 1 to September 30.

The top 10 podcasts remained relatively stable, with ARN/ iHeartPodcast’s Stuff You Should Know holding on to the top position. Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime remained in the #2 position, and SCA/ PodcastOne Australia’s Hamish & Andy stayed in #3.

ARN’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show shifted spots with Schwartz Media’s 7am, with The Kyle & Jackie O Show jumping to #4, and 7am dropping to #6.

News Corp’s From The News Room was steady in #5.

The biggest mover in the top 10 was News Corp’s The Night Driver which jumped 51 positions to #10.

New entrants to the Top 100 include This Is Actually Happening (Wondery), Watch What Crappens (Stitcher), and Bunga Bunga. 

Participating publishers in the Australian Ranker include ARN/iHeartMedia, Southern Cross Austereo, News Corp Australia, Audioboom, Stitcher, Wondery, Nova, Nine, SEN / Crocmedia, Schwartz Media, TOFOP Productions, Kinderling Kids Radio, Australian Radio Network, Wavelength Creative, NBC News, West Australian Newspapers, and Fear and Greed. Additionally, as of the August 2020 Australian Podcast Ranker, Nine Radio has been expanded to include podcasts from Nine’s Digital and Publishing divisions.

Joel sounds like he should be on community radio or JoyFM. Not too good.

I can’t understand how Kate, Tim & Joel stays relevant in the ratings. Has anyone listened since Marty left? It’s just not good.
