SEN is preparing for the summer of cricket, which will see it broadcast matches “nearly every day”.

Big Bash Nation will cover the short-form matches, with the commentary team made up of Dwayne Russell, Andy Maher, Jack Heverin, Sam Hargreaves, Darren Berry, Simon Katich, Bryce McGain and Brad Hodge.

SEN’c chief sports caller Gerard Whateley will headline the SEN Test commentary, which kicks off at Adelaide Oval on December 17.

He will be joined by Anthony Hudson, Damien Flemming, Katich, and new recruit Brad Haddin.

This core team will be supported by Ian Healey (Australian Test cricket legend), Chris Rogers (Victorian men’s team coach), Lisa Sthalekar (former Australian women’s captain), Simon O’Donnell (former all-rounder), Gavin Robertson (former Test spinner), Ryan Harris (bowler), and Adam Collins (international cricket caller).

The Australian’s chief cricket writer Peter Lalor will also provide breaking cricket news.

Katich said he was looking forward to some hard-fought battles.

“Calling the action with the SEN team will be great fun during what promises to be a ripping contest between the two proud cricketing nations,” he said of the upcoming India vs Australia stoush.

SEN CEO Craig Hutchison said the coverage will be first-class.

“With the nation’s best broadcasters calling the ball-by-ball action and former players alongside them as elite analysts, we’re promising listeners the best coverage possible and we can’t wait for the first ball to be bowled,” he said.

Cricket fans can tune in to the Big Bash and all four tests on 1116 SEN in Melbourne, 1629 SEN SA in Adelaide, 1053 AM in Brisbane, 1620 AM Gold Coast, 657 AM in Perth, SEN Spirit 621 AM in Bunbury, 1629 AM in Mount Gambier, and the new 1170 SEN Sydney.

It will also be streamed live on the SEN and CA Live apps.

Getting Whateley together with Katich & Rogers again is a masterstroke – when these 3 & Dirk Nannes were doing the ABC Commentary years ago it was absolutely elite.
