SCA invest in London broadcasts

Southern Cross Austereo today announced that the national drive show Fifi & Jules will broadcast live from London during the first week of the 2012 Olympic Games.

As part of that week, the drive program will host a VIP party with Hamish & Andy.

However, it's not only the Today Network who will be represented; Triple M Melbourne's Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy will broadcast live from 'The Last Lap' in central London.

Group Content Director Craig Bruce said;

“Fifi & Jules have fast developed a reputation for developing hilarious video content and London will provide a spectacular backdrop for them to produce even more of that. Add Triple M’s exclusive radio partnership with ‘The Last Lap’ into the mix plus Hamish & Andy’s Olympic themed final radio show from Andy’s London Lair and it really will be a treat for SCA to bring all the colour and energy to life in one of the country’s biggest radio gigs”.

The Today Network’s Fifi Box said; "When people think of the London Olympics, they immediately think of Fifi & Jules, don't they? OK… Admittedly, we're not well-known for our sports broadcasting”.

Jules Lund added; “But keep in mind, travelling internationally with Fifi is a sport in itself. It requires stamina, nerves of steel and ‘paw paw cream’ which says a lot, since I've spent a decade travelling for a living."

Whilst Triple M's Eddie McGuire was talking up 'The Last Lap';

“It will be party central. It’s all very well being in the Olympic Village but the athletes want to get out of there and into Central London and the epicentre is going to be at The Hot Breakfast studio at The Last Lap".

"Others will broadcast the event and that’s fine, but what people won’t be able to get is a sense of what’s really going on; what the stories are; what was seen afterwards and how the athletes will be reacting. They’ll be on the show chatting to us as we witness what is really happening”.
