SCA announces the resignation of CFO Nick McKechnie

Southern Cross Media Group Limited (SCA)  has announced that Chief Finacial Officer Nick McKechnie has given his notice of resignation after eight years with the brand. 

Nick has taken up a new position as the CFO of the luxury development company, Gurner Group, and will remain with SCA until a replacement is found. 

SCA CEO Grant Blackley has sung praises for Nick’s contribution to SCA, both professionally and personally. 

“Nick has made a significant contribution to SCA since joining as CFO in September 2014. He will leave the Group with a strong balance sheet and cashflow position which has enabled us to invest in our digital transformation strategy,” said Blackley. 

“On a personal note, I have valued Nick’s support and advice in my seven years as CEO, which have included the ongoing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. On behalf of the senior leadership team and everyone else at SCA, I wish Nick success in his new role as CFO of Guner Group.” 

Speaking to Radio Today after the results presentation this morning Grant Blackley said, “Nick has been a wonderful confidant and great support for the company and the leadership team.”

“We have together, along with the leadership team and the board, obviously strengthened to company, our balance sheet is in good health, our debt has been reduced from some, $680 million to what is now, effectively $78 million and we are buying back our own shares at this point in time, so Nick has been a part of that journey.

“We wish him the absolute best in moving across to what is a non-public environment, so he’s moving to a private company, called Gurner, which is back to his original roots, he was formerly in a company in infrastructure.

“He will be with us for a little bit longer and we wish him the absolute best on the way through.

“We are already advancing in terms of our search for someone to replace Nick and when we have something to add we will be back to inform the market.”
