Rosso’s emotional tribute to Jonesy & Amanda
This morning on GOLD101.7’s Jonesy & Amanda, old friend and former radio rival Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross became emotional on-air whilst reflecting on Jonesy & Amanda’s 20-year Breakfast legacy following news of their move to Drive next year.

Ross said “I think it’s really important that you’ve understood what the privilege of waking up this city, and you’ve been incredibly important to so many of us. And we’re going to love you on Drive, but we’re going to miss you and Breakfast. And I think in terms of the history of FM breakfast shows, I think you’ll be the most loved and that’s the most important metric of them all.”
“And I think it’s really important to say that because I think you guys are fantastic. And if there’s one thing that sort of sums up your relationship, and I think it’s it speaks a lot. And I don’t think everyone will listen to your show in the same way, but it’s the softness in the way that you say each other’s names. And I think there’s something incredibly beautiful about that.”
An architecture aficionado, Ross has recently written What a Ripper – a book which takes a nostalgic look back at some of the best designs and products from Australia that broke the mould and still play a part in our lives today.
