Hadley’s alleged altercation with 2GB staff member

Staff Writer

Yesterday, 2GB's Ray Hadley was ordered off air for 3 days over an alleged verbal altercation with a staff member.

The male worker submitted an official complaint to station management following what happened in Hadley's office last week.

It is alleged the staff member used profanities to describe Hadley's production team and allegedly made a distasteful joke about former station manager Ian Holland.

Hadley allegedly defended his team and the decision to suspend him saw threats of a boycott by his staff.

A memo sent by 2GB PD David Kidd yesterday said Hadley would be away for the rest of the week.

But the Daily Telegraph have reported that station owner John Singleton got involved last night and said:

"I'm a betting man and I'd like to put a million dollars on at any price that Ray Hadley is on air (today)."

Hadley returned to air this morning.

It is understood lawyers may now get involved to sort the matter out.
