Ratings Preview: What to expect from the final survey of 2018

GfK is set to release the results of the final metro survey for the year tomorrow.

As always, stay tuned to Radio Today from 9:30am when we’ll bring you all the #1s and ratings cards as soon as they come to hand.

Our rolling coverage will also include DAB+ Digital ratings, The Spin, and the final results of The Mother of All Radio Battles between SCA’s 2DayFM Sydney and ARN’s KIIS FM Melbourne, which tightened in the last book.

So what are we expecting from Survey #8?

In Sydney, the battle between WSFM and smoothfm for the #1 FM station will continue to boil on.

As always the magnifying glass will be firmly held against 2DayFM Breakfast, especially following the recent announcement at the three hosts currently at the helm will continue for 2019.

Down in Melbourne, we’ll find out whether Christian O’Connell will be able to continue his upward trend following a tough start to his time in the city, taking the challenge to smooth and Fox.

And will Fifi, Fev & Byron be able to go a full year of surveys undefeated in the #1 position on FM Breakfast?

Brisbane will continue to remain a tight market, and it’s anyone’s guess as to who’ll rise to the top in the battle Nova, Hit105 and Triple M.

Can ARN put in a strong showing to end the year in the Sunshine Capital?

Mix102.3 is expected to continue its dominance in Adelaide, but eyes will also be on Nova’s new show after its Breakfast show rated well following the departure of Shane Lowe last survey.

And finally, the battle for Perth will rage on between Mix94.5 and new market leaders Nova 93.7 to finish the year as the top dog of The West.
