CRA has released the revenue figures for May from Deloitte, showing all five metropolitan markets improving.

Advertising revenue for the five markets was $60.7m, up nearly 4% when compared to May 2011. By individual market:

  • Sydney grew 3.6% to $19.2m.
  • Melbourne grew 4.5% to $18.0m.
  • Brisbane grew 1.5% to $9.4m.
  • Adelaide grew 8.5% to $6.2m.
  • Perth grew 3.2% to $7.8m.

CEO of CRA Joan Warner commented: “This is the first time in the past twelve months that the Sydney market has recorded a monthly increase in revenue – the last growth was for May 2011 – so this is good news, the industry welcomes the return to positive figures for all markets in May, with some cities such as Adelaide continuing to record strong growth.”

For the eleven months financial YTD (ending May 2012), the figures show a slight fall to date for FY12 of 0.2% for the five metropolitan markets combined to a total of $620.4m.
