Radio National boss leaves

Staff Writer

The ABC Director of Radio Kate Dundas told staff today that Louise Evans (left), Manager of RN, would be leaving after 6 months in the job.

Dundas said, "while Louise has emphasised to me how much she has enjoyed her time with RN to date, the manager's role has not turned out to be one she wants to continue with over time."

"As such we both think it's best for Louise to step aside now.

"Louise's time with RN has, however, further cemented her love of radio and I have asked her to stay on, to work with NewsRadio for a period to assist manager NewsRadio Helen Thomas to deliver one of the network's key strategic priorities."

Dundas said that Evans "has achieved much in a relatively short period of time — developing audience and stakeholder engagement as was evident at the first RN regional community forum, progressing the complex RN co-location project in Sydney, overseeing the 2013 Boyer Lectures to be delivered by the Governor-General throughout November and setting the network up for commissioning the 2014 schedule and implementing the Strategic Plan".

Group PD Michael Mason will take over at RN while they look for a replacement.
