Radical Fashionism: the podcast

PodcastOne has launched a new original podcast series that taps into the world of fashion. It’s titled Radical Fashionism and is hosted by Christian Wilkins and Andy Kelly.

Wilkins is a model and the son of Australian television personality Richard Wilkins, while Kelly has worked in the creative space for more than 11 years.

In Radical Fashionism, they discuss how fashion is more than just ‘threads and price tags’ and whether culture has shaped couture over the generations.

“For anyone who lives and breathes fashion as we do, it’s not just about clothes, it’s about identity-discovering it and redefining it,” says Wilkins.

“Fashion allows people to challenge and transcend cultural paradigms; to push the boundaries and truly make a statement about who they are and what they stand for, and we think that’s pretty incredible.”

Wilkins and Kelly are joined by a range of guests as they explore the role fashion plays in society.  Pop-fashion icon Boy George discusses coming out of the closet, while Isabella Manfredi of The Preatures discusses the relationship between fashion and feminism.

According to Kelly, their guests offer a unique insight into the fashion world.

“Fashion allows people to challenge and transcend cultural paradigms; to push the boundaries and truly make a statement about who they are and what they stand for, and we think that’s pretty incredible.

“Each of our guests have such a unique take on fashion and amazing stories to share about how it’s shaped them professionally and personally.”
