Queen’s Birthday honours list

A number of Australians have been honoured today with the Queen’s Birthday honours list announced. FIVEaa’s Jane Reilly, 3AW’s Denis Walter and 2GB’s Susie Elelman are amongst the names being awarded for their service.

Denis Walter, for service to the performing arts as a singer and entertainer, and to the broadcast media. Denis has hosted afternoons on MRN’s 3AW since 2008 and is awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division (OAM).

“I am proud and more than a little humbled by this honour after 45 years in the industry. I’ve been fortunate to work across many areas of media and entertainment, from television news to my music career and now the treasured role as 3AW’s Afternoon host”, said Denis.

Jane Reilly, for service to the broadcast media and to charitable groups. Jane has been part of Nova Entertainment’s FIVEaa since 2013 on breakfast and is awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division (OAM).

Susie Elelman, for significant service to the not-for-profit sector through major fundraising roles with a range of organisations, and to the broadcast media industry.  Susie is part of MRN’s 2GB and is awarded Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM).

James Mooney, for service to the broadcast media as a radio presenter and to the community. James has been part of Canberra community station Art Sound since the early 1990’s  and is awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division (OAM).

William Armstrong for significant service to the commercial music recording industry through pioneering roles and to the broadcast media sector. William, amongst a long career was also the Managing Director of EON FM and is awarded Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM).
