Premier Dominic Perrottet joined WSFM 101.7’s Jonesy & Amanda yesterday to discuss the devastating floods in New South Wales.

The Premier revealed to Jonesy & Amanda “150 out 700 people required rescuing in Forbes. That is 1 in 5 people.”

When Jonesy & Amanda asked the Premier about the government’s plans to raise the dam wall, he declared it is a top priority.

“It has to be done. Every time I’ve been in Forbes recently it’s the number one thing people ask me about. The decisions we make today need to protect people for decades to come.”

Jonesy & Amanda also interviewed Forbes Deputy Mayor Chris Roylance who revealed “last Sunday we had 5 inches of rain and it came down in sheets. When we woke up on Monday morning, we knew we were in trouble.”

Jonesy reflected on 2018, when he was last in Forbes. He said at that time, the question was whether it would rain any time soon, highlighting the huge contrast in weather conditions and natural disasters within a few short years.
