Perth’s RTRFM gets ready to launch Radio Love Month

Reporter

Perth-based community radio station RTRFM is about to launch Radio Love Month, the first of its two annual fundraising drives.

Next year, RTRFM will celebrate 50 years on air.

Starting in May, Radio Love Month is not just a fundraiser – it’s a timely reminder that without the annual support of its listeners, the station would not exist.

RTRFM General Manager Simon Miraudo said “We hope Radio Love Month serves as a gentle reminder of the role RTRFM might play in your life. If that inspires any feelings of appreciation, or indeed generosity, we encourage and welcome donations of any size!”

“It’s your support that allows us to maintain our independence, which means we can continue to platform WA artists, champion alternative music, and provide a space for volunteer voices you won’t hear elsewhere. It allows us to put on events like In the Pines.”

I love coming in to this station every Friday morning to create stories for their website. The staff there are genuinely lovely people and have been so kind, welcoming and generous to me in the relatively short time I’ve been there.
