Perth couple tie the knot in Mix94.5 op shop wedding

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue … you could literally find it all in the one location this week, as Mix94.5’s Pete & Kymba arranged for Perth couple Troy and Lisa to officially get hitched in an op shop wedding.

Troy and Lisa have been together twenty years but have never tied the knot.

The couple, who met in a Joondalup nightclub, got engaged live on air in the Mix94.5 studio with their three kids Kaiden, Harrison and Adaline part of the proposal.

11 year old Harrison remarked “Sounds like Dad was the coolest guy at the nightclub and you chose well! Mum, will you marry Daddy?”

With Lisa emphatically answering “YES!”, the wedding preparations began.

A coin toss provided a twist plot with the hens and bucks parties, with the blokes ending up having to take the pole dancing class and the ladies heading off for some adrenalin-filled go kart racing.

An excited Troy and Lisa then had their big day inside the Vinnie’s Op Shop, surrounded by friends, family … and half the staff from the radio station!

The pre-loved wedding outfits saw Troy dressed in a pink Hawaiian shirt and a retro Fremantle Dockers tie, while Lisa looked stunning in a lacy, trumpet style wedding gown.

An old 80s Casio Keyboard provided the soundtrack to walk them down the aisle.

As a registered celebrant, it was brekky host host Kymba Cahill who sealed the deal for the happy couple.

The wedding didn’t leave a dry eye in the house. Even brekky host Pete Curulli shed a few tears.
