“People listen for the presenters”: Kyle on 2GB if Alan Jones left

Alan Jones‘ contract negotiations, or lack thereof, have dominated the media this week, so naturally, KIIS FM host Kyle Sandilands has weighed in.

Kyle compared the possibility of Jones’ departure from 2GB to when he and co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson left 2DayFM.

“What happened when Jackie and I left 2DayFM is… within minutes about $130 million was taken off the stock exchange of the value of that company,” he said.

“People listen to radio for the presenters, they don’t listen to the radio for the love of the whole station.

“If Alan Jones leaves 2GB and pops up at 2SM, it’s all over for 2GB.”

Kyle’s not the first radio personality to weigh into the debate, with Triple M Sydney’s Lawrence Mooney imagining what it might be like if Jones made the unlikely move to Nova.
