Christian O’Connell goes rogue, kicks off his show three days early

Christian O’Connell was formally welcomed to Gold104.3 last night with a big soirée, but the British host woke up this morning and decided he wasn’t going to wait until Monday to start his new Breakfast show.

Jumping on-air this morning with new sidekick Cacklin’ Jack Post, he grabbed the mic and said “I can’t handle another weekend of thinking about the show, I have decided decided to come in and start the show now.”

Following that he actually introduces himself to fill-in jock Brendon “Whippy” Dangar before telling him “you can go home now.”

“Thankyou for the last couple of months, you’ve done an amazing job. It’s only going to go downhill from here.

“People are going to remember your show as the heyday of Gold in the morning.”

Whippy then takes him through how to use the computer, with Christian remarking “we should probably have done this off-air.”

A video of all the action that appeared on Gold’s Facebook page has since been taken down, with a PR rep citing “technical difficulties” to Radio Today.

They’ve since posted another clip of Jack having a brain fade, watch below.

The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show “officially” starts on Monday June 4 on Gold FM.
