Nova’s Jase Hawkins reveals personal IVF journey
This morning on Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren, Melbourne fertility specialist Dr Lynn Burmeister joined the show to discuss the second embryo mix-up at Monash IVF, providing expert insight on how such critical errors could occur and what it means for the future of IVF in Australia.
In a candid moment, Jase Hawkins also revealed that he and his wife Lou conceived their youngest son Archie via Monash IVF and still have embryos stored with the provider.
He reflected on how this latest news has shaken his trust.
“I hadn’t told you guys this yet, but we actually had Archie through IVF, through this particular company. So yesterday afternoon, when Lou was reading the story, you know … and like Archie’s three, and look, he’s a dead set ringer for his brother, Felix, you know. And so we’re pretty sure we’re good there. But as someone who’s gone through it … it was such a personal experience. And whatever company you go through for something like there’s that trust that you have. And just yesterday was just that weird, just that icky feeling in your guts going.”
Jase & Lauren can be heard from 6am to 9am on Nova 100 in Melbourne. Listeners can stream the show live or catch up with the daily podcast by downloading the Nova Player.
