Nova’s Brendan Taylor on GfK Survey 8: “I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved”
It might seem a bit odd, reflecting on 2025 when radio teams are already focused on their strategies for 2026.
But for NOVA Entertainment’s Group Programming Director Brendan Taylor, talking about GfK Survey 8 – the final ratings book of last year – feels anything but weird.
“Not at all,” says Taylor. “What a great way to start the year – to reflect on 2025 results and celebrate all the incredible work that our teams put in.”
As far as Taylor is concerned, any opportunity to talk about our radio industry can only be a positive thing.
“I’m also really proud of what we’ve achieved in Survey 8 and throughout 2025,” he says. “It proves the strength of Nova’s audience performance.”
For eighteen consecutive surveys now, NOVA Entertainment remains the most listened-to metro network, reaching 6.33 million people across broadcast and DAB+.
The Nova Network also closes out 2025 as Australia’s #1 metro FM network, capturing a 9.5% share, with a cume figure of 3.9 million listeners.
Taylor says the Survey 8 results are testament to the hardworking and talented teams across the network who produce these shows every day.
Drive is consistently strong across the cities. Why does Taylor think it performs so well?
“Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel are all world class broadcasters and they have a mutual respect and a real love for the craft,” he replies.
“They genuinely love what they do and consistently prove their incredible connection with their audience, across every city.”
As for any big programming strategies for 2026 – or new talent we should be keeping an eye out for – Taylor isn’t giving much away.
“We’re constantly planning for long-term success, delivering great content for our audience and driving value for our commercial partners.”
“We’re excited to drive this momentum into 2026.”
