NOVA’s Bin Chicken Tim welcomes flight into Perth as WA opens border

After 697 agonising days, Western Australia’s had border closure has been lifted.

During that time grandparents have missed out on the birth of their grandchildren, and weddings and major milestones were missed.

Perth’s airport provided some emotional scenes this morning as WA officially re-joined the rest of the country.

Nova 93.7’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun sent along their station mascot, Bin Chicken Tim to welcome the arrivals into Perth.

While the first flight into WA was welcomed at midnight on Thursday, the airport was filled with loved ones and family members for the arrival of a Jetstar flight from Melbourne at 7.10 am this morning.

Nathan, Nat and Shaun crossed live to the airport as Kimberley and her 8-month-old daughter Freya met her grandparents for the very first time.
