Nova celebrates four #1 FM Breakfast shows in GfK Survey 3
Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren are back on top of the leaderboard as Melbourne’s #1 FM Breakfast show, one of four NOVA Entertainment brekky shows to top the ratings in GfK Survey 3.
Nova’s Melbourne team of Jase Hawkins, Lauren Phillips and Clint Stanaway held steady with a 10.2 share, enjoying a cume increase of 79,000.
Gold 104.3’s The Christian O’Connell Show fell 1.1 to a 9.7 share, to now sit outright second.

A small rise took Fifi, Fev & Nick to an 8.9 share, putting the Fox brekky trio in third. Smooth FM’s More Music Breakfast with Mike Perso went up 0.8 to be fourth with an 8.4 share.
Triple M’s Breakfast show – headed up by Mick Molloy – fell 1.4 to a 5.9 share.

And whilst the KIIS team of Kyle and Jackie O continue to be Sydney’s #1 FM Breakfast show – up 0.2 to a 12.5 share – Melbourne is still giving them the cold shoulder, with K & J falling 0.7 to just 5.1 this book – shedding 30,000 in cume – and putting them just one point clear of local AM sport station SEN.
Of K & J’s latest survey results, ARN’s outgoing Chief Content Officer Duncan Campbell said “While Melbourne remains a competitive market, we’re confident in our long-term strategy.”
“The continued dominance of The Kyle & Jackie O Show speaks to the power of our network – no other breakfast show in the country reaches over a million listeners. In Sydney, the show has now held the #1FM position for an incredible 51 consecutive surveys, with Jonesy & Amanda maintaining their strong #2FM position to complete ARN’s breakfast duopoly.”
3AW continues to be the dominant force, the AM talk station still #1 overall in Melbourne Breakfast.

It was a cracker of a book for ABC Melbourne, with the Breakfast team of Bob Murphy and Sharnelle Vella rising 2 points to now hold a 7.6 share, with a cume increase of 51,000.
ABC Melbourne enjoyed share gains in every shift across the day and on weekends.
As NOVA Entertainment cracks open the champers, Group Programming Director for the Nova Network Brendan Taylor says having four #1 Breakfast shows speaks to the strength and consistency of the Nova brand.
“Over the past two years, we’ve focused our attention on staying live and engaged with the local markets, so to see Jase & Lauren as the most listened to Breakfast show in the country, Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne retain the #1 Brisbane result and Jodie & Hayesy also reach number one is incredible.”
“It really is testament to the power of live radio and a credit to the hard work of our teams across the network.”

So how many survey’s will it take until it’s deemed by ARN that their “long term strategy” has failed? Are we approaching that number? Doesn’t take a radio insider to decipher that Melbourne has made its decision.
Congratulations Jason Rowan and Clint you guys deserve to be number one on FM. Hopefully you mean there for the rest of the year and we add more listeners.
But they aren’t number #1 in two markets? This is just misleading, especially the title.
You’re right of course. Now noted as #1 FM. Thanks.
