Nova 91.9 extend Dylan & Hayley by an hour

Former Assistant Editor

Nova Adelaide’s Breakfast show has been extended an extra hour.

Dylan & Hayley will now be heard on Nova 91.9 from 6am–10am Weekdays. The first extended show took place on Monday (May 20).

Speaking with Radio Today, Nova 91.9 program director Ben Latimer said that the move was about creating a point of difference.

“Our listeners love Dylan & Hayley (they have the most listeners in Adelaide) so we wanted to give them more!”

“It’s such a brilliant listen 6-9, so extending the show to 10am makes sense, while also giving us a distinct point of difference to our competitors.”

Dylan & Hayley have had a strong start to 2019, and as of the second ratings survey of the year are the #2 FM Breakfast show in Adelaide with a share of 10.1%.

NOVA Entertainment group PD Paul Jackson has constantly reiterated his support for the show.

After the most recent survey, he praised Dylan & Hayley for out-performing new Hit107 show Bec & Cosi.

“With Bec and Cosi [on Hit107] starting this year with a lot of marketing, they’d probably have expected to do better and get past us.

“Dylan and Hayley is an easy listen, a classy show and they’re both very funny people. The show is where we want to be.”

They are the second major metro Breakfast show to extend their hours in recent weeks, following Brisbane’s Hit105 with Stav, Abby & Matt.

Dylan & Hayley have hosted the show as a duo since the departure of Shane Lowe last year. Lowe moved to 96FM in Perth, where he now anchors the Paul & Lise Breakfast show.

Hardly earth shattering Kyle and Jackie have been on until 10am for years. Does this really warrant a press release ? This sounds more like networks trying to get more bang for their buck, getting on air talent to work harder and longer for the same money and charging clients breakfast rates in 9-10 so more revenue.

Praise must come easy from Paul Jackson if he’s congratulating his brekky talent for out rating a brand new show in their first couple of surveys
