Nova 100’s Deano Thomas releases Childish Deano animated series
While finishing seven years with Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam and Brownie breakfast show, Dean ‘Deano’ Thomas has launched his short-form animated comedy, Childish Deano.
The six four minute episodes will be released over two weeks on Instagram and Facebook where the series is free to watch via @childishdeano.
The show which is created by Deano Thomas and cartoonist David Ferrier is loosely based on the childhood of Deano, who grew up in the WA Wheatbelt town of Quairading in government housing.
“The series is essentially an animated comic strip – and though it is inspired by my life – there’s a lot of creative license,” said Deano.
“While being packed full of comedy, it’s for anyone who went through their childhood blissfully unaware of the challenges, prejudices and inequities that surrounded them.”

The series, which received support from Screen Australia features a voice cast including Sam Pang, Tony Martin and Leah Purcell.

This show is hilarious. Incredible work Deano and Dave!
Love Deano. Greatly appreciate his talent as a former anchor of a breaky show. Great talent. Highlights how good and how important a key anchor is. Love how CS and B embrace him as part of the team.
