The smell of liniment is hanging heavy in the air as Melbourne gears up for that ‘one day in September’; the AFL Grand Final.

Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny kicked off the footy long-weekend on Thursday (Sep 26) with a high-rise breakfast show from the 89th floor of the Eureka Tower.

Browny has a unique take on the Grand Final experience, having played in three premierships over his 256-game career with the Brisbane Lions, while Sam co-hosts Channel Seven’s The Front Bar.

As for Chrissy, she’s a self-confessed “Richmond tragic”.

Joining them from Eureka 89 were friends of the show Santo Cilauro, Dale ‘Daisy’ Thomas and show regulars; Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt, Titus O’Reilly and Max Gawn of the Melbourne Football Club.

The team will soon be heading to the Big Apple as Browny prepares to tackle the New York Marathon.

Broadcasting from the 89th floor of Eureka does what for listeners exactly? Take the show on the road and make them inaccessible? Seems like a costly ego inflation in the name of GF.
