Nick Randall joins Whooshkaa

Staff Writer

Australian podcast platform Whooshkaa has appointed former Macquarie, Fairfax and Austereo senior executive Nick Randall as its first Commercial Director.

Randall’s role will be to develop Whooshkaa’s expanding portfolio of content partners including Fox Sports, Sky News, The Australian, The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and Sky News.

Randall was previously National Sales Director at Macquarie Media, where he played a key role in the Fairfax Radio Network merger. Before this, he was Sydney Sales Director and National Sales Operations Manager at Southern Cross Austereo.

Whooshkaa Founder Robert Loewenthal said Randall’s extensive experience across the industry would be a powerful asset in driving Whooshkaa’s commercial expansion:

“Randall’s appointment reaffirms our commitment to being the leading company in our industry, our innovativeness and increasing customer demand call for an experienced senior executive who is in sync with our ethos of trailblazing and exceptional service. We are delighted to have a professional of Nick’s calibre on board.”

Randall said he was excited to maximise the forward-thinking potential of Whooshkaa: “I look forward to working with the team to develop their already extensive advertiser offering. The Whooshkaa development team is at the forefront of podcast innovation, and its recent Facebook integration is just one of many initiatives underway. I am fortunate to be joining a pioneering team leading the way in the commercialisation of podcasts.”

Whooshkaa is a free platform providing podcasters with sophisticated hosting and ad injection technology, advanced listener analytics and an advertising network connecting companies and brands with podcasters. Whooshkaa also measures time spent listening to individual podcasts.
