Staff Writer

The results for the second survey of 2012 have been released in New Zealand.

Newstalk ZB (TRN) is the number one radio station in 2 of the three metropolitan markets (Auckland and Christchurch).

On other TRN survey news, Group General Manager Content, David Brice says…

“In Auckland Classic Hits has double the audience share of More FM, a superb achievement. Our new drive show hosts Jason Gunn and Dave Fitzgerald blitzed it, increasing Auckland and network audience shares”

However, looking at the important national picture, MediaWorks is now the most listened to radio network in NZ, with a 45.7% National Share, moving TRN to second place for the first time (they are now on 43.3%).

Andrew Szusterman, MediaWorks Group PD–Music says…

"These numbers are a terrific result for MediaWorks. It’s very pleasing to see the continued dominance of the MediaWorks music brands, led by The Edge. We’ve seen excellent gains for The Breeze, and recent addition to the stable, The Sound. It is also great to see ongoing growth in the talk formats.”
