New Mix breakfast show ready to start

Staff Writer

This Friday will see the end of an era in Perth radio with 'The Bunch' airing its final show after 21 years.

As reported early in September, the new Mix 94.5 breakfast show will be their current drive team of Clairsy, Shane and Kymba (right).

As they prepare for the first show on Monday, the station are starting to ramp up promotion and PR for the new direction for Mix.

Dean Clairs says, “My first radio gig was breakfast at 6MD in Merredin when I was 17 so it's a bit of a spin out to be doing it again 30 years on! I just hope we have more than 11 farmers listening!”

“All it will take is for Shane and I to exchange that knowing wink as we‟ve done for a decade, and we‟ll be away! Looking forward to seeing Kymba and her 5am hair too (may never say that again)."

Starting on drive in 2014 will be ex-breakfast host Lisa Shaw and announcer Tim Lordan, before Fred Botica returns from long service leave in March.

“It‟s going to be a chance to try some new things and connect with some different people," says Shaw.
