Nathan Reay departs NOVA Entertainment

Staff Writer

Nathan Reay, NOVA Entertainment‘s head of mergers and acquisitions, strategy and partnerships, is departing the radio network.

Reay has resigned from his role in the business after almost four years, having joined Nova in May of 2016.

As Mumbrella reports, Reay’s role won’t be replaced, rather NOVA’s manager of M&A, strategy and partnerships Mohil Asija will continue in the area and will also assist senior executives and the board in assessing strategic opportunities.

Reay joined Nova from Bauer Media, and has also worked in senior positions at PwC.

“We see a strong opportunity for NOVA Entertainment to leverage its brands, audiences and expertise into new areas of growth for the company,” said NOVA CEO Cathy O’Connor at the time that Reay was appointed.

“We are delighted to welcome someone of Nathan’s calibre to NOVA Entertainment at an exciting time in our development, to help us with that journey and seize on the significant opportunities that lie before us.”

NOVA Entertainment announced multiple redundancies in December of 2019, with Melbourne program director Rohan Brown and Nova 100 presenter Matt Tilley among those to depart.

In a statement, a spokesperson for NOVA Entertainment blamed the “tough economic environment” as the cause for changs.

Former SCA head of music Irene Hulme then returned to NOVA as a music director.
