More 2UE moves

Staff Writer

More changes at 2UE today with Brian Carlton, aka 'The Spoonman' joining the station as Executive Producer for the Jason Morrison drive program.

Additionally, Mumbrella has revealed tonight that Peter Berner, weekend afternoon announcer, has quit 2UE due to the numerous changes at the station.

2UE, following a number of announcements earlier today as Radio Today reported here, will formally announce its Breakfast Show tomorrow, and the only certain thing at this point is that Ian 'Dicko' Dickson will be one half of the show.

Kathryn Robinson who was all but confirmed, pulled out at the final hour leaving Dicko without a co-host.

Chris Parker, 2UE General Manager, has told Mumbrella that the Breakfast Show would be announced mid-morning tomorrow;

“One of the things you have to do in this job is continually talk to people, and for instance I spoke to two potential hosts yesterday who won’t be part of our plans for 2013. The speculation about who will be Dicko’s partner will end tomorrow, and there will be a great sigh of relief.”

2UE's lineup has been completely changed for 2013, with not a single shift remaining untouched. There remain three outstanding pieces of information on the lineup; Dicko's co-host for Breakfast, where Murray Olds will end up following the 'two murrays' move from afternoons, and who will host weekend afternoons.

With survey one less than two weeks away, and still no permanent Program Director in place, Parker will be keen to get January behind him and launch the new 2UE to market.

Mumbrella broke the story on Berner and Spoonman, you can read the full piece here.
