Moonman goes on tour for NSW drought relief

Former Assistant Editor
Triple M, Lawrence Mooney

Triple M Sydney‘s Breakfast team have launched their Drought Support Tour to get behind drought-stricken farmers throughout NSW.

The Moonman In The Morning crew (Lawrence Mooney, Jess Eva, Gus Worland and Chris Page) are heading to Dubbo, Parkes and Orange next week to help raise awareness for the farmers and regional communities who are suffering.

Gus will be holding a series of chats, in conjunction with his mental health charity Gotcha 4 Life, to help get local communities chatting about the emotional strains of drought, and to hopefully provide tips for dealing with the tough times.

Triple M has partnered with Coles, and the Country Women’s Association (CWA) for the tour, which will also see Mooney perform stand-up shows in Dubbo and Parkes.

“We’ve just spoken to Judy, a farmer from Dubbo who is suffering badly from the drought… and we feel it in here, don’t we guys,” said Mooney on air.

“We’re partnering with our great friends at Coles for this and we’re encouraging you to donate at their checkouts. All funds go to the Country Women’s Association.”

“We’re going to try to do our little bit and we encourage you to as well.”

Donations can be made at any Coles or Liquorland checkout across Australia.

You guys are doing an amazing job in getting the message out this week…thank you. I’m not sure how to nominate a song for Friday…and I don’t think I can match what I’m sure will be a high price for a song…but I came across this tonight from #sammyj and it just struck a chord… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkzWNNVzbAU
