Mix102.3 has pulled off ‘My Big Fat Blow Up Wedding’ in the Inflatable Church – on show as part of this year’s Adelaide Fringe – with a local couple taking the ultimate leap on this leap year to get married.

With an extra day of love today – Thursday, 29 February – Max Burford and Ali Clarke, hosts of Max & Ali in the Morning, decided to marry a couple, selecting an anonymous bride from several entrants to ask her boyfriend to marry her, tying into the leap year tradition of a woman asking for the man’s hand in marriage.

Max & Ali chose 37-year-old, Elizabeth Habkouk from Osborne as the lucky bride, who has been dating her boyfriend, 47-year-old Ben Britton, for six years.

From 6 this morning and live on air, Max and Ali managed to get the wedding together in the space of three hours,  including getting Elizabeth to ask Ben to get married, and then Ben having to ask her dad for her hand in marriage.

The breakfast team also organised invites for family and friends, obtained wedding bands, and even secured fan-favourite Hans as the flower girl for the ceremony.

The wedding had a number of guests in attendance including friends and family of the couple, and Mix102.3 listeners who followed the wedding planning and wanted to be part of the event.
