Mix Melbourne brekky go national

Staff Writer

Proving the old adage when you're on a good thing stick to it, Duncan Campbell has announced that Jane Hall will join Chrissie Swan as co-host of the national '3pm pickup' afternoon program on the Australian Radio Network. Hall will replace present co-host Yumi Stynes.

The Mix Melbourne Breakfast show 'Chrissie and Jane' has continued to impress.

In the most recent Nielsen survey it was ranked narrowly ahead of Triple M and well ahead of SEN, Magic, Smooth, Triple J, and sister-station Gold. (See here).

For ARN, continued growth of the Mix Melbourne show is critical to offset the decline in ratings for the Mix Sydney Breakfast show, which despite significant marketing and attention internally has consistently fallen in Nielsen ratings.

The '3pm pickup' is broadcast on Mix Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra, and on 97.3 in Brisbane.

Group Content Director Duncan Campbell said;

"We've been impressed by the success and the unique dynamic that Chrissie and jane have added to the breakfast landscape in Melbourne and the transition of Jane Hall as co-host of 3pm Pick up means we extend that combination nationally across the Mix network".

The program is brand-funded content, with K-Mart the primary partner. National Agency Sales Director for ARN, Matt Granger said;

"The inclusion of Jane in the 3pm lineup, and the adjustment we have made to the format, delivers a deeper, more topical, and relevant offering"

Jane Hall will start on the program tomorrow afternoon 20 August.
