Melbourne protest against ABC cuts

Staff Writer

On Sunday, July 6 supporters of the ABC will rally in Melbourne.

More than 40,000 people attended the first Bust the Budget event which aimed to send a message to Tony Abbott and the Liberal party about cuts to the ABC.

The ABC Friends, who are concerned the proposed cuts may leave to the privatisation of the network say: “Most Australians don’t want these savage and destructive cuts to our society.”

The group expects this next event to be bigger and louder.

Supporters are encouraged to head to Queen Victoria Gardens (opposite the Melbourne Arts Centre) at 1pm.
