Long live the King: New Elvis podcast arrives

Almost 50 years after his death, Elvis Presley lives on in the hearts and minds of fans across the globe.

Now, a new podcast – a little less conversation a little more ELVIS – has arrived.

Hosts Mark Andrew and Kevin Hillier take you inside The Kingdom with access to the people who were there when the legend was at his highest … and lowest.

Hear Elvis stories from staff, friends, fans, fellow musicians, promoters and some sources that will surprise.

Episode 1 features Sam Thompson, the head of Elvis’ personal security team, part of the inner sanctum and brother of Linda Thompson, girlfriend of the King for a number of years.

Mark Andrew has been paying homage to Elvis in his live tribute shows for decades. Through those shows and his commitment to authenticity, Mark has made friendships with the people closest to Elvis.

“I love preserving the history of Elvis and with the connections I have made over the years, I thought: Why not contact these people and get them to have a little chat about the King?” Mark says.

“I have been sitting at dinner tables and heard the stories and I thought these should be shared with Elvis fans.”

Radio veteran Kevin Hillier has been playing Elvis songs on the radio for decades.

“I have heard the names over the years but now getting the chance to hear their stories is fascinating,” he says. “You could listen to blokes like Sam Thompson 24/7.”
