Lineup changes at 6PR with more to come

Staff Writer

6PR in Perth have announced 2 changes to their lineup today.

Mornings announcer Paul Murray (below) is moving to drive, replacing him will be WA journo Gary Adshead (left).

6PR GM Martin Boylen said, “Gary’s varied background in TV, radio and newspapers gives him a massive head start when it comes to dealing with the issues and personalities that make news in Perth.

“I am confident he’ll make a real impact when he starts on-air.

“Paul (Murray) indicated to us some time ago he’d prefer a change of shift for lifestyle reasons and we were very happy for him to continue as part of the team in the drive slot.”

The station has seen a few changes in the daytime shifts this year. Arvo host Tony McManus was sacked, local personality Jane Marwick took over, she lasted 6 months before current host, ex-Freo captain Peter Bell, started in August.

Then, of course, the station dismissed drive host Howard Sattler after his controversial comments to then PM Julia Gillard.

6PR have said more lineup details for 2014 will be announced soon.

One rumour reported by Perth Now is that 92.9's Basil Zempilas could be on the move to the Fairfax talk station to co-host breakfast with current host Steve Mills. With the recent change at 92.9 with new hosts Heidi, Will & Woody coming in, Basil was said to be continuing on in sport.
