Leap of faith: Andy Kay to leave Nova 100

After 20 years in radio, Andy Kay is leaving the industry to take a big leap of faith.

Andy – Head of Audience Engagement at Melbourne’s Nova 100 – is taking on a new role as Partnerships Manager – Commercial & Media at Always Live.

Always Live is a celebration of live contemporary music that was the brainchild of the late Michael Gudinski, and is now headed up by his son Matt.

The event is the biggest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, creating memorable music moments across Melbourne and Victoria.

Andy’s new job will see him align brands with home-grown music talent, some of the best acts from around the country and sought-after international artists.

During his time in radio, Andy’s had the chance to work with big industry names including Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang, Browny, Dave Hughes, Kate Langbroek, Brigitte Duclos, Lehmo, Matt Tilley, Jo Stanley and, most recently, Jase & Lauren.

Last year, he also released his first bookThe Adventures of Little Andy, a memoir of his own messed-up life moments.

Of his departure from radio, Andy tells Radio Today “The decision to leave is one which is filled with mixed emotions and one that took a while for me to decide on.”

“I certainly sat on the fence for a little while, deciding if I’d take the leap of faith into a new role and industry.”

“But I’m really excited to be joining the Always Live team.”

I could fill an entire page writing about Andy Kay.
I met Andy at NOVA only a few years ago, and it was at that point that I very quickly realised that Andy is in fact, as amazing and as incredible as I had heard from his previous team at ARN.
My god what a breath of fresh air, Andy is really one of a kind, super talented, committed with a can do attitude, always positive, has an infectious energy that makes its way through the corridors, loved by everyone, and I mean everyone, considerate, kind, and one of the funniest people I know.
Congrats Andy, you really are an absolute legend and you deserve all the success in the world my friend.
Andy for PM.
