Kylie Minogue tops Spotify’s inaugural Australian Music Global Impact List

Spotify Australia released its inaugural Australian Music Global Impact List, showing the top 30 Aussie tracks released in the first half of 2023 with the biggest global impact. 

Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam topped the list, followed by The Kid LAROI’s Love Again and Empire Of The Sun’s We Are The People (southstar Remix).

Other appearances on the list include PNAU, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Vacations, The Teskey Brothers and Spacey Jane.

The list is compiled by accounting for global streams excluding Australia, follows, saves and other interactions.

“The Australian music industry is now bigger than it ever has been, thanks to streaming,” said Spotify Australia Head of Music Alicia Sbrugnera.

“In an age of an emerging borderless music industry, this list is a fantastic snapshot of local artists having a big impact on the world stage and comes as Australia looks to become a net exporter of music. Last year Australian artists generated close to 80% of their royalties from outside of Australia!”

Spotify’s 2022 Loud and Clear Report showed that revenues generated by Australian artists from Spotify alone reached nearly $250,000,000.

The same report also showed that the Australian recorded music market hit a 15-year high, becoming the 9th largest in the world with a total value of $566M.
