Kyle & Jackie O go rogue in new Melbourne marketing campaign

Reporter

ARN has unveiled a fresh marketing campaign for The Kyle & Jackie O Show in Melbourne, centred around the tagline Radio Gone Rogue!

Created entirely in-house, it’s the next phase in ARN’s strategy to grow its Melbourne audience.

Rolling out across outdoor, digital, social and TV, the campaign is headlined by a tongue-in-cheek TV commercial which launched yesterday.

Based on a concept the show has run previously, the next instalment is once again set in a focus group where participants share their brutally honest opinions on Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson – while the KIIS FM duo secretly watches on.

Multiple executions of the TVC will roll out in the coming weeks, each highlighting different unscripted and unfiltered reactions to the show.

The new creative direction builds on ARN’s previous Melbourne campaign, We’re Behaving, which launched earlier this year.

Lauren Joyce, ARN’s Chief Audience and Content Officer, said: “The only thing routine about The Kyle & Jackie O Show is the timeslot – every morning it is unexpected and goes against the grain of formulaic radio. It’s a little bit rogue, in the best possible way.”

“Radio Gone Rogue! taps into what listeners, both loyal and new, tell us they love most about the show; it’s bold, it goes where others won’t and frankly, it’s unswitchoffable.”

The integrated campaign is now live across Melbourne’s key outdoor sites, digital platforms, and social media, with TV coverage continuing in the coming weeks.

Their Melbourne fix is beyond repair. They keep advertising and yet it won’t reflect that in the numbers/serveys.

These two have hit their ceiling in Melbourne. No matter what they try, the Kyle and Jackie O brand is too toxic down there for it to increase. If ARN still want a breakfast show based around old people and conservative viewpoints for their supposed CHR station, why not try Derryn Hinch and Jo Stanley?

Too little too late.
There’s no coming back from the binfire.

If you are going to blatantly rip off an old campaign, at least make it better. The scripting and execution in this is appalling.

If only they could outsource their Melbourne listeners to India too

Wherever you are, if you don’t like it don’t listen, easy fix for naysayers. I’m a positive convert. These two are, the odd time, hard to stomach, but they are open and honest and raw. Teetering on the edge of the broadcasting code of ethics, adds an exciting edge to the program. One never knows what to expect!

So Kyle isn’t the only person at ARN who doesn’t know what HR stands for.

Who really cares about 2 obnoxious, over paid wannabes. She spends all her time crying how hard she has it, and he goats about his wealth and how much more he has than everyone else

That misogynistic, homophobic bully and his enabler shouldn’t be unfiltered in any timeslot, let alone mornings where young kids have the potential to be listening and influenced. Advertisers quite rightly leaving in droves.

Why would anyone listen to these dipshits spreading misogynistic hatred to their audience? Australia it’s time to wake up to this racist, homophobic content, ARN do better it’s 2025!

Melbourne doesn’t seem to want this pair of racist, homophobic, sexist, ignorant clowns. When will they get the message? They’re not edgy and raw, they’re backward and out of touch.

Looks like more good staff to be sacked to pay for their advertising campaign

Jackie O should have her own show and guest hosts and get different co hosts daily or weekly and get special guest to interview guest d.j. and not shitty 5 min interviews and same people everyone gets movie stars of latest promo tours get someone bit less famous and break out new stars and het personal choice of music and let’s make her queen of radio a goddess of the air ways

Melbourne isn’t interested in their fake controversial concern and flip floppery.

Here, I have updated this statement for you. Obviously someone got their wording wrong….

“Radio Gone Crap! Taps into what Kyle thinks is funny, but no one else does, even though Melbourne listeners have told us they hate that most about the show; it’s high offensive and trashy, it goes where others won’t – because they aren’t vile and frankly, it’s unswitchonable.”

‘They’re not edgy and raw, they’re backward and out of touch.’ Exactly! May have been acceptable in the 80s but it’s 2025. ARN don’t you realise times have changed and you’re ideas belong with the dinosaurs? It’s embarrassing how much you paid for this outdated filthy garbage. Jokes on you.

ARN: read the empty room! The Kyle and Jackie O Show is a comedic vacuum in the capital of comedy. Who in Melbourne, or anywhere for that matter, would choose to listen to this unintelligent, unfunny, misogynistic, sexist and racist program?

They are a very unpleasant pair who should not be making the comments they do on prime time radio ( or any time for that matter )

Why is this journalist constantly writing stories that resemble ads about this unlikeable pair?

Why run the ad?
These two used to be cutting edge.
Now they look old and sad.
The ad is cringe worthy
