KOFM to the rescue

Staff Writer

In Newcastle, KOFM's Breakfast team, David and Tanya, have just completed a week-long story arc supporting a wonderful cause.

Local man Stewart Alley died suddenly, leaving his wife Michelle and their 6 children behind.

The family home was, unfortunately, fairly rundown, and David and Tanya decided to launch 'Rescue for Michelle'.

Across a week, David and Tanya invited KOFM listeners to donate items and services to make the Alley family home a little more comfortable.

By the end of the week, the KOFM appeal had ticked off each element around the house to be addressed; new mattresses, trenches, turfing, carpet, lighting, updating the kitchen and bathroom, concreting and drainage; plus various other treats and services being donated.

David and Tanya commented;

“We are so grateful that each time we ask for help for someone deserving, Newcastle’s there. The outpouring of support for Michelle has been extraordinary, we’re so proud to be a part of this community”.

Michelle Alley said;

"Our entire family would like to say an enormous thank you to KOFM and the Newcastle community. Everyone has opened their hears at this time of extreme sadness and the community's kindness and offers of support are so very much appreciated. We sincerely thank each and every one of you".

Excellent stuff by the KOFM team.
