KOFM breakfast show Help the Homeless

Yesterday, KOFM’s David & Tanya launched 'Help the Homeless'.

After doing one of their 'What's It Like To Be You' segments with a homeless couple, they received lots of calls from listeners wanting to help not only them but other Newcastle people in a similar situation.

They interviewed Susan McGuiness from Newcastle’s Wesley Mission, who told David & Tanya they are seeing at least 10 families a week at their Oasis Centre in comparison to 10 families a month last year.

Susan said they receive government funding for food and clothing but are in need of toiletries.

David & Tanya are now campaigning to help those in need.

For the next 2 weeks, KOFM are asking locals to donate toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo plus any spare blankets.

David & Tanya are then going to do an OB from the Wesley Mission Centre in Newcastle on Friday 10 May to show how everyone's generosity has helped.
