KIIS 1065 partners with the Penrith Panthers
ARN’s KIIS 1065 has signed on as a proud partner of the Penrith Panthers for the remainder of the current NRL season.
Under this partnership, KIIS 1065 branding will be prominently displayed during the Panthers’ home games at BlueBet Stadium, featuring KIIS LED signage that will light up the field.
The KIIS brand will also be integrated across the Panthers’ social footprint, as well as activations at the games including the introduction of the infamous ‘KIIS Cam’.
On air and across socials, KIIS 1065 will offer match tickets to listeners. Additionally, The Kyle & Jackie O Show’s Cooper Johns will deliver unique content with behind-the-scenes access to the Panthers’ players.
Lauren Joyce, ARN Chief Strategy & Connections Officer says “Partnering with the Penrith Panthers is an incredible opportunity for the KIIS Network to bring our brand’s energy and enthusiasm to a passionate fanbase.”
Penrith Panthers CEO Matt Cameron adds “We are excited to welcome KIIS 1065 as a proud partner of the Penrith Panthers. Their dynamic presence and commitment to fan engagement perfectly align with our goals for this season.”
Didn’t Kyle famously say – “we don’t do football on this show.. no one gives a s**t…” or something to that effect?
That will go down as one of the strangest partnerships ever, of a game that Triple M dominates in ownership.
Have ARN truly lost their strategic marbles these days?
“The Kyle & Jackie O Show’s Cooper Johns will deliver unique content with behind-the-scenes access to the Panthers’ players” … nova and fox will be licking their lips.
Going by the ratings for radio in this market, it’s actually not all that difficult to understand why the Penrith Panthers (or indeed, any Sydney NRL team) would form a partnership with KIIS 1065 despite Triple M having the FM rights to games.
Besides, it’s not the first (nor likely to be the last) time a sporting team has formed a partnership with a commercial radio station regardless of broadcast rights. 2WS/WSFM were major sponsors of various sports of appeal to Western Sydney during the 1990s and 2000s but if I’m not mistaken, they didn’t really do live coverage of sport then.
Having said all that, I suspect any noticeable increase in NRL talk on K&JO is likely to be a huge turn-off in AFL-loving Melbourne where local interest in/media coverage of rugby league is probably even lower than it is for Aussie Rules here in Sydney.
Penrith Panthers test well in St. Kilda?
A season-long deal … starting in mid August?
Just in time for rd 24
@SydneyCityTV, agree with:
“I suspect any noticeable increase in NRL talk on K&JO is likely to be a huge turn-off in AFL-loving Melbourne…” particularly with the Panthers. Melbourne might be more inclined to listen if they’re talking about the Storm.
Penrith Panthers are #1 in Sydney and the NRL – #1’s team up… Plus I know I would love some more listeners in Rooty Hill.
