Nova’s Kate, Tim & Joel to broadcast from New Zealand

Nova’s Drive show Kate, Tim & Joel is taking advantage of the Trans-Tasman travel bubble, and is set to broadcast from New Zealand next week.

The trio, along with Tourism New Zealand, are also offering listeners the chance to win trips to Wellington, Hamilton & Waikato, Christchurch, Kaikoura and Nelson.

It is Joel Creasey’s first international trip with Nova, while both Tim Blackwell and Kate Ritchie have taken the Drive show to the UK for the Royal Wedding in 2018 and Las Vegas in 2016.

Blackwell said the team has been dreaming about travelling again for a while, and now the dream is a reality.

“We love New Zealand – whale watching in Kaikoura, rafting in Hamilton, Waiheke Island – one of the most beautiful places on Earth – and skydiving in Taupo,” he said.

The trip will involve winery tours on Waiheke Island, a scene flight to Auckland’s Sky Tower, meeting locals and other “incredible experiences”.

Andrew Waddel, general manager of Tourism New Zealand, said: “We’re so excited to welcome Kate, Tim & Joel over and share the wonders of Aotearoa New Zealand with our neighbours once again.

“From alpine scenery in Wanaka to the award-winning wineries of Hawke’s Bay, and buzzing streets of Wellington – there’s loads to see and do.”

This is quite cruel because so many people in radio were made redundant and now the network is splashing out on international trips for some staff

So what’s in it for the listener?

Hey Rob,

Isn’t it great that clients are jumping back on board and willing to spend money to send teams back overseas again and creating great opportunities for listeners to also experience it!

I think it’s a big thank you to Tourism NZ not Nova on this one.
