Kate Langbroek won’t return to SCA in 2019

Staff Writer

Kate Langbroek has spent 2019 broadcasting her Hit Network Drive show Hughesy & Kate from Italy.

After a number of guests including Michelle Laurie filled in for Kate recently, Ed Kavalee has since spent the last few weeks in the chair alongside Hughesy.

Following Kavalee’s recent departure from Breakfast, with SCA replacing the Grant, Ed & Ash show with a music-driven show hosted by Jamie Angel, it’s now been confirmed the former Breakfast host will remain on Drive until the end of the year.

As TV Blackbox reports that Langbroek won’t be on the show for the remainder of 2019.

The official word is that Kate will reunite with Hughesy in 2020, however only time will tell.

Meanwhile Jamie Angel’s new Music Breakfast show launched on Monday (August 19) and Radio Today pulled some audio from his return to 2DayFM.

UPDATE 22/08/2019: Kate called into the Drive show, now hosted by Ed and Hughesy, and confirmed that the plan was originally to return to Australia to continue hosting Hughesy & Kate in October.

But Kate revealed she then changed her mind, despite Hughesy trying to convince her son otherwise.

“We were planning for you to come back in a few weeks weren’t we?” asked Hughesy.

“You were trying to talk me into that,” responded Kate.

“You were trying to talk Louis out of any more European summer days!” deduced Ed.

@Stephen.. highly doubtful that both H&K would ever want to do breakfast radio again, no matter how much money was thrown at them.
