John Laws tells sexual abuse victim to ‘smile more’

2SM’s John Laws has brought an 80 year old victim of sexual abuse to tears on his program.

The man called in to share his story of being abused as a child, and in the 10-minute conversation Laws recommended that he should talk to professionals to seek help.

However, he also asked why the man did not ‘fight back’ at the time, and suggested that he needs to smile more and be happy to get over what happened.  

Midway through the call, Laws said that because the caller did not feel better as a result of the phone call, they had wasted each others time, and asked the caller to thank him.
