JJJ concert rained out
Triple J's 'One Night Stand' in Dalby which we previewed here last week, was cancelled last night when the weather deteriorated so badly that the show could not go on safely.
It was, in the end, not a surprise the weather was bad given the forecast. It was however a surprise just how bad it was.
Notwithstanding the weather, there were over 15,000 concert-goers who attended the free event, and they did get to see three of the acts in full: Mace and the Motor, Matt Corby and Stonefield.
360's set was cancelled a few minutes in resulting in him telling the audience; "Mother nature, I fucking hate ya", and headliners Temper Trap didn't even get on stage.
Temper Trap did release a statement later saying;
"We were advised the amount of water had made the site unsafe for the crowd, working personnel and the bands. The crowd at Dalby was awesome and we were amped to get out there and play. Thanks to everyone who came and we hope to see you at a show soon."
Triple J Manager, Chris Scaddan commented;
"Due to safety reasons 360's set was postponed. After ten minutes it was clear the water wasn't going to stop and the call was made by triple j and event production staff that the concert couldn't continue safely. We were sorry to let down the people of Dalby after such a build up. We're glad the first part of the day went ahead and the crowd got to see great performances by Matt Corby, Stonefield and Mace and the Motor"
