Jimmy and Nath’s Big Spud scoop

Reporter

Hit Network Hobart breakfast duo Jimmy and Nath got quite the scoop when Tasmania’s new Premier recently dropped into the studio.

Jeremy Rockliff revealed a special connection with Tasmania’s beloved giant potato sculpture, known as The Big Spud.

“My father built the Big Spud and I helped him to build it.”

And he welcomed Nath’s idea for a ‘Potato Fest’ at the site of The Big Spud, celebrating all things potato.

“I reckon that’s an excellent idea,” said the Premier. “As long as there’s plenty of fries and sauce”

As for his musical tastes, Premier Rockliff told the guys he’s a bit of an eighties fan and has recently been listening to U2.

“I’ve also been listening to Matchbox 20 and learning Real World on the guitar.”
