Moonman in the Morning’s Jana Hocking gives up producer role & moves to SCA publicity

Former Editor & Content Director

Moonman in the Morning’s senior producer, Jana Hocking, had her final show this morning.

From tomorrow, she will be joining the Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) team as PR manager in Sydney.

Hocking has a long history with SCA, having been executive producer for Newcastle’s Hit Breakfast and Triple M’s The Grill Team.

Her publicity remit will include her former show, Moonman in the Morning, as well as Triple M Perth, Triple M Nights with Danny Lakey and the Triple M Sports Shows for NRL and Cricket. She will also dabble in the Hit Network, with responsibility for Perth’s Mix 94.5. In addition, she becomes SCA’s internal communications lead.

Hocking said her time in Breakfast radio had been ridiculously fun, but she couldn’t wait to see what eight hours of sleep looks like.

“I’m excited to e stepping into this new role., after many years working in radio, print, digital and TV, to further connect our shows, talents and brands with our audiences,” she said.

Triple M’s content director, Rex Morris, added: “Jana has turned her passion for PR into the next step of a brilliant career with SCA, and we couldn’t be more proud.”

In addition to her duties with SCA, Hocking has a dating column with news.com.au, as well as an accompanying podcast, Kinda Sorta Dating.

Radio Today understands SCA is recruiting to replace Hocking’s production role.

Recently, multi-ACRA winner Laura Bouchet was promoted within Triple M  to become executive producer of not just Moonman, but all Triple M Sydney and audio-on-demand shows.
